We decided to set up Ladybird Lessons beacuse we recognised that many carers have little or no training in how to address the developmental needs of young children. When planning a family we were very aware that we would be in a position where we would both have to work and a carer would be responsible for our children. This seems to be becoming a common scenario in our society today.

It was with this in mind that we decided to plan a structured course to give carers a grounding in child development and a bank of activities they could use to entertain and scaffold children's development. We hoped that this would ensure that they could provide the best care possible for our children.

We would like to share some of these ideas with you and your carer through our courses.

Since beginning our helper courses we have had several requests to offer a parent course which has led to the development of our literacy and maths courses for parents.
